New signings summer window
Ten Hag openly expressed his desire to sign a goal-scoring forward in the summer window. A new midfielder and goalkeeper were also among his top priorities.
To that end, Mason Mount became Manchester United’s first summer signing, arriving from rivals Chelsea in a highly controversial transfer worth upto £60 million ($76m), including add-ons. The Red Devils then sealed big-money captures of Cameroonian shot-stopper Andre Onana and Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund from Inter Milan and Atalanta, respectively. Veteran centre-back Jonny Evans has also returned to the club on a short-term contract.
