Nigerian most successful club on the continent have been drawn alongside Orlando Pirate of South Africa in the CAF confederation group stage. The draws were conducted in Cairo, Egypt on Monday
The Peoples elephant Eyimba, Orlando Pirates, Algeria’s Entente Setif and Libya’s Al Ahly Benghazi are all in Group A. The Nigeria outfit will open their campaign against Ahly Benghazi of Libya at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on March 10, and then travel to South Africa to face Orlando Pirates on March 17, before concluding the first round of group games against ES Setif on April 2, in Aba.
According to the Punch, the return fixtures of group games will be played between April 11 and 28. The two-time champion league winner will be shooting for glory as it being long they won a piece of continental silverware.
Defending champions Renaissance Berkane of Morocco are in Group B with JS Kabylie of Algeria, Coton Sport of Cameroon and Zambia’s NAPSA Stars.
