Dr Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State removed former Kano Emir Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi in March 2020 to protect traditional institutions from abuse. Goodluck Jonathan fired him by the central bank for losing $ 49 billion in government vaults.
Ganduje spoke during the release of a book in honor of the former president, Dear President Goodluck Jonathan (Open Letter), written in Abuja by former Daily Times editor Bonaventura Melach. “Sanusi was appointed by Emir Kano to reclaim what Jonathan did to him, not because he was the best fit for the throne,” he said. To prove what they wanted, they decided to make him Emir.
“But when he was hired, there were many protests when people here and there burned tires. But thanks to the support of the government, he remained in the chair. ” Ganduche apologized for Sanusi’s public protest over the alleged fraud, saying the former CBN governor should have discussed the matter privately with the former president, who could have ordered an investigation into the allegations.
