Manchester City still has the highest wage bill in England, the UK Mirror reports.

During the 2019/2020 season, salaries continued to rise despite the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Liverpool’s annual player wage bill also rose above Manchester United.

City topped the table with an overall wage bill of £351m.

Liverpool is in second place and is shelling out £325m to pay their players.

United is next with £284m, while Chelsea closely trails them with £283m.

Arsenal’s wage bill for last season sits at £225m and the top six is completed by Tottenham Hotspur, who are still only paying nearly half of City’s overall salary contributions at £181m.
